Everyone Has a Place Here

Adaptive Boxing at BVL Boxing Solutions

At BVL Boxing Solutions, we believe boxing and fitness should be accessible to everyone.

Our adaptive boxing programs are designed to meet people where they are. Whether someone is living with Parkinson’s, has an intellectual or developmental disability, is an older adult, is new to exercise, or simply needs a more individualized approach, our goal is to create a positive place where they can move, learn, build confidence and feel part of the community.

You don’t have to fit a certain mold to belong at BVL.

What Is Adaptive Boxing?

Adaptive boxing takes the fundamentals of boxing and adjusts them to meet the needs, abilities and comfort level of each participant.

Training may include:

  • Shadowboxing

  • Heavy bag work

  • Mitt training

  • Footwork and movement

  • Balance and coordination exercises

  • Strength and conditioning

  • Reaction drills

  • Functional movement

  • Group fitness activities

Exercises can be modified based on the individual so participants can work at a level that is comfortable, challenging and appropriate for them.

No previous boxing experience is necessary.

Boxing Is for Everybody

You don’t need to be a competitive boxer to benefit from boxing training.

At BVL, adaptive boxing can be a great fit for:

  • Individuals living with Parkinson’s

  • Individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities

  • Older adults

  • People looking to improve balance and coordination

  • People who benefit from modified exercise

  • Beginners who may feel uncomfortable in a traditional gym environment

  • Community groups and organizations looking for inclusive fitness opportunities

Everyone comes into the gym with a different story, different abilities and different goals.

That is exactly what makes the BVL community special.

Parkinson’s Boxing & Movement

Boxing-based movement can provide an engaging way for individuals living with Parkinson’s to stay active.

Our sessions can incorporate boxing movements, coordination drills, balance work, strength exercises and conditioning in a supportive environment.

Participants are encouraged to work at their own pace while staying active, challenging themselves and enjoying the social side of training with others.

Our goal is simple:

Keep moving. Keep challenging yourself. Keep showing up.

BVL Boxing Solutions does not provide medical treatment, and our programs are not a replacement for medical care or physical therapy. Participants should follow the recommendations of their healthcare providers when beginning or participating in an exercise program.

Adaptive Boxing for Different Abilities

Every person deserves the opportunity to experience the confidence and accomplishment that can come from learning something new.

Our coaches can modify drills and exercises so participants can experience boxing in a way that works for them.

That might mean changing the pace.

Changing the movement.

Changing the equipment.

Or simply taking more time.

The goal is not to make everyone train the same way.

The goal is to help everyone participate.

More Than Physical Fitness

Adaptive boxing can be about much more than throwing punches.

It can create opportunities to work on:

Confidence

Learning new skills and seeing personal progress can help participants feel more confident in themselves.

Coordination

Boxing drills often involve the hands, feet, eyes and body working together.

Movement

Training encourages participants to stay active and continue working on mobility, balance and physical fitness.

Focus

Boxing requires attention to movement, combinations, instructions and the task in front of you.

Social Connection

Sometimes the most important part of coming to the gym is simply being around other people.

At BVL, participants aren't separated from the community.

They are part of it.

Community Groups Are Welcome

BVL Boxing Solutions welcomes organizations and community groups interested in introducing their members to boxing-based fitness.

We have had the opportunity to work with groups serving individuals with Parkinson’s, people with disabilities, wellness organizations and other members of our surrounding community.

Sessions can be adapted around the needs of the group and can include boxing fundamentals, movement, conditioning and interactive exercises.

A Community Built for Everyone

Some people come to BVL to compete.

Some come to get in shape.

Some come because they are rebuilding.

Some come because they simply want somewhere they feel comfortable.

Different ages.

Different abilities.

Different backgrounds.

Different stories.

But once everyone steps into the gym, they become part of the same community.

This is what it means to belong.

Come Be Part of BVL

You don't have to know how to box.

You don't have to be in perfect shape.

You don't have to move like everyone else.

You just have to show up.

We'll meet you where you are.
